Bow making

HISTORICAL BOWS

Marcus van den Munckhof (1988) started playing the cello at the age of four. Throughout his life, he has always had a great fascination for instruments and bows. When he graduated from the conservatory in 2015, Marcus started making bows, learning the craft from Andreas Grütter and Luis Emilio Rodriguez Carrington. In recent years, Marcus has made bows for all instruments of the string instrument family and all of these bows have found a player with various musicians in the Netherlands and musicians from, among others, the Freiburger Barockorchester and B’rock Orchestra. In addition to his work as a musician, Marcus finds it extra satisfying that making a bow gives a lasting result and he gets a lot of joy from enabling his fellow musicians to find the greatest possible playing pleasure.
